Every spring in the Fribourg Prealps, herds climb to the high pastures in a slow, single-file procession. Cows wear crowns of flowers and heavy brass bells. Farmers sing. This is the poya — a centuries-old ritual that Swiss painters immortalized on chalet walls, and woodcarvers pressed into oak.

Born in the cradle of Swiss watchmaking.
Mood was born in the Vallée de Joux — the mountain-locked valley in the canton of Vaud that has been the world capital of Swiss watchmaking for three centuries. Nestled between lakes and pine forests, this narrow valley is where the world's most demanding watchmakers learned to shape metal at the tenth of a millimeter. Same water. Same air. Same 300-year obsession with precision.
In 2004, our founders took that watchmakers' discipline and applied it to a completely different object : the ring. The idea sounded almost naïve for a jewelry brand — don't sell a ring, sell a system. A base you keep, motifs you collect, colors you swap. One patented click, endless combinations.
As the brand grew, the workshop moved a short drive down the valley to Orbe, still in the canton of Vaud — where design, precision cutting, hand engraving, assembly and quality control all happen under one roof. Six boutiques across Switzerland. Swiss artisans polishing motifs the way their neighbors polish watch cases. No middlemen. No offshore. No shortcuts.
Our values are simple and old-fashioned : precision (inherited from the watchmakers next door), patience (a ring passes through several artisan hands before it leaves), heritage (every motif tells a Swiss story) and transmission (a base you'll pass on).
